THE INITIAL SITUATION
The stationary screening equipment is mainly used for transporting top soil. The different layers of earth are separated in the process. A heavy impact is created by the top soil constantly hitting against the screen and this was cushioned by eight rubber dampers. But the oscillations were so strong that the vibrations were still transferred to the steel construction. This meant that over time, cracks started to form in the base frame. In addition to this, the conveying capacity had to be signifi cantly reduced when fi ltering sticky top soil with a high clay content, as the dampers were too soft for this.
THE SOLUTION
In order to solve this problem, Mr Hansruedi Allemann looked on the Internet for a suitable solution. That is when he came across ROSTA AG, who were only too happy to take a look at the problem. Not long after this, the eight rubber dampers on the screening equipment were replaced with eight ROSTA vibration dampers type AB 45. Since then, the vibrations in the base frame have all but disappeared, protecting the entire steel construction. It was even possible to further increase the conveying capacity of the sticky clay-based top soil.
PRODUCTS USED
The ROSTA elements used in size AB 45 are maintenance-free elastic joints designed to support the freely oscillating vibrating screens in various models. They support the driving forces in the conveying direction and provide for good linear guidance. The ROSTA AB elements are particularly helpful in absorbing the strong vibrations quickly and effectively where the screens discharge.
