THE INITIAL SITUATION
The PELLENC OPTIMUM® carrier is a multifunctional machine that can do pre-pruning, spreading, leaf stripping, spraying and harvesting work. By optimizing the yield, Pellenc encountered numerous problems with the PUR inserts, they failed. With the increased amplitude and vibrations, the PUR rubber inserts disintegrated way too quickly. Subsequently all inserts had to be replaced and this in the midst of the harvesting season!
THE SOLUTION
ROSTA was confronted with two challenges:
– Finding a reliable and durable solution
– Present a solution swiftly, as there was a planned test campaign just a few weeks later
Out of the different rubber mixtures, produced by ROSTA, three were selected for the tests. One of the three proposed rubber withstood the harsh test condition which were carried out in France, Spain and Argentina.
PRODUCTS USED
The Rubmix’s rubber quality is based on a high content of natural rubber (caoutchouc) and offers good shapememory, small settling factors (cold flow), high mechanical load capacities and moderate aging behaviors.
