The Customer Service Representative supports all customers (internal and external) by responding to requests, placing orders and providing information on credits, pricing and any issues with orders. The Warehouse duties could include responsibility for incoming and outgoing shipments of product, including the put-away of inventory and pulling product to be shipped out for customer orders and inter-company transfers.

Job Functions

  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders for standard products and services, requests for prices and quotations and handle customer credits and complaints.
  • Expedite orders from the factory in order to ensure that order promise dates are met.
  • Quote prices, terms of sales, availability, delivery dates and related information and process orders.
  • Work in conjunction with other team members
  • Process incoming shipments of product from small package delivery companies and LTL freight carriers. Check in product by matching the packing slip (shipper) to the parts. Double check quantities received and ensure that the product matches the part number on the shipper.
  • Receive the packing slips from all incoming shipments and enter into the system.
  • Pick customer orders according to information on the pick ticket. Double check all lines pulled to ensure that the quantity and part numbers shown on the pick ticket match the physical parts.
  • Utilize printed receiving reports to put away the remaining parts as stock inventory or segregate to a separate location if being held for partially complete customer orders. Stage complete customer orders for will call, delivery, or 3rd party shipments.
  • Prepare shipments for 3rd party freight carriers. Securely package small shipments and create shipping labels. Package large truck shipments on pallets, using adequate packing materials to ensure the safety of the shipment. Arrange for pick by preferred LTL carrier and complete bill of lading.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Skills needed:

  • Relationship builder with external and internal customers
  • Strong verbal skills.
  • Effective written communicator (email/text)
  • Technical aptitude a plus
  • Efficient order entry computer skills
  • Acute attention to detail to ensure accuracy of products being received and shipped, and the ability to complete paperwork (paper and electronic) completely and accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Education Required:

  • Two year associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic computer keyboarding
  • Knowledge of Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Warehouse / customer service experience
  • Forklift experience

 

Other

  • May also receive direction from inside and outside sales personnel
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (>30 minutes) without sitting
  • Able to lift products weighing up to 70 pounds without assistance
  • Normal work hours M-F 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
